When we walk into a museum we don't see the same picture on all the walls. We see a different picture in every spot. If they were all the same picture, it would be pretty boring.

As a child I used to like paint-by-numbers. Every number was to be painted a different color. What do you think would have happened if I had painted all the numbers the same color? The picture would have been ugly and not worth putting on the wall for display.

It is in much the same way that everyone has different hopes and dreams. What I may want in my future may not be what you want. When you ask someone what they see as their big picture they may say something like they want to be debt free, or maybe they want a house on the beach, or they want to buy a RV and travel across country. No two people will give you the same answer.

The key to making a sale in network marketing is to find out about the one person you are talking to at that moment. This must be part of your sales development plan. No one else matters at that time. In order to be able to paint that person a picture you have to first ask a few questions. What is their why? Why do they want to build a business with this company and why now. Ask where they see themselves in five or ten years. Once you get the answers to these questions you can begin putting that picture together for them. Once they see that their dreams, hopes and desires are possible you have their attention.

When getting someone to want to join your direct sales business, point out potential income. Once they start hearing about how much money they could possibly make the wheels start turning in their head and they start realizing what they can do with that kind of money. If they realize they will get what the want sooner rather than later they will be more likely to commit to this business.

Since everyone is different and everyone wants different things no two people will be in this business for the same reason. I may want to provide a great education for my kids and you may want to retire and travel the world. It is up to us to find out what the big picture will be to that one we are talking to at the time. Then we can help them paint a mental picture that will let them see all the desires of their hearts
